SENIOR and JUNIOR EMBEDDED SOFTWARE ENGINEER
Description
Associates in this position lead and contribute code to teams that develop embedded software to support our products and radiation testing of aerospace processor systems.
Position Logistics
- REMOTE POSITION, must live in continental US
- US Citizenship Required for this Position
- Clearance Requirement: Variable based on assigned project. All associates must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI clearance if project requires.
- Travel: Variable based on project, generally does not exceed 2 weeks per year
Essential Functions
- Develop new software and expand existing software per project requirements in a process-oriented software development environment for embedded, resource-constrained systems
- Work with software requirements and architecture, prototyping, design, implementation, integration, test, documentation and delivery of software
- Demonstrate familiarity with various processor, memory, I/O architectures, multi-core systems, and heterogeneous systems
- Demonstrate a fluent understanding of compiled languages, scripting languages, assembly, and machine code
- Work with conventional operating systems (e.g., Linux), real-time operating systems (e.g., VxWorks), and hypervisors for multi-core processors, and their associated host/development environments and tools
- Follow industry and company best practices for developing software that emphasizes correctness, modularity, portability, comprehensibility, and proper error handling
- Develop test code to validate modules and their integration to the larger system through regression testing
- Demonstrate excellent communication ability, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of associates, customers, and suppliers including supporting bid and proposal efforts
- Thrive in lab and radiation test facility environments and be able to collaborate closely with system engineers, hardware designers, and integration/test engineers
- Lead development teams while also providing substantial contributions to all stages of the development process
- Thrive in a self-managed work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and at least 5 years of software engineering industry experience post-graduation
- Experience with embedded software development using C, C++, and Python and version control software on multicore processors
- Experience using POSIX shell and utilities, multi-threading and inter-process communication synchronization, Linux kernel internals and use such as partitioning and mounting devices, networking stack, init systems, process management, serial consoles, and SSH, FTP, TFTP, and DHCP
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active in-scope TS/SCI clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering and at least 10 years of directly applicable software engineering industry experience post-graduation
- The minimum qualifications and knowledgeable in fault tolerant system design, high assurance software, flight critical software, embedded systems, hardware/software interfacing and drivers, concurrency and parallel programming, distributed systems, GPU programming with OpenCL and Cuda on AMD and NVIDIA GPUs, compiler internals, and hypervisors
- Currently holds an active in-scope TS/SCI clearance
Senior Hardware Engineer
Description
Associates in this position lead and contribute designs to teams that develop embedded hardware to support the research, development, and testing of aerospace component and systems.

- Travel: 10% to 50% of time per month dependent on the project.
Essential Functions
- Develop new hardware and expand existing hardware designs per project requirements in a process-oriented development environment for embedded, resource-constrained systems
- Work with hardware requirements and architecture, prototyping, design, implementation, integration, test, and delivery of hardware which will implement complex data analysis, data routing, and/or controls system designs in resource constrained target environments
- Demonstrate familiarity with various hardware components and systems, and have a fluent understanding of their design and test using HDLs, PCB design flows, SPICE, and other related tools
- Work with FPGAs and/or ASICs, their related circuitry, and their associated host/development environments and tools
- Follow industry and company best practices and style guides for development, debugging, testing, commenting, and version control of HDL, schematics, and circuit diagrams
- Focus on developing hardware designs that are comprehensible and as error-free as possible
- Develop test code to ensure correctness of modules and their integration to the larger system through regression testing
- Adequately comment, document, and follow version control policies for developed designs and code
- Demonstrate excellent communication ability, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of associates, customers, and suppliers including supporting bid and proposal efforts

- Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering and at least 8 years of hardware engineering experience
- Knowledgeable in FPGA design, electronic component characterization, PCB design, assembly, and test, and software coding/scripting to support analysis and test of components

Senior Radiation Test Engineer
Description
Associates in this position lead radiation test efforts by employing knowledge of radiation effects and their interactions in electronic devices and materials. This associate will develop and debug complex test designs, perform radiation tests on complex devices, support analysis of the test data to assess compliance to specifications and requirements, and support the development of test reports.

Description
Associates in this position support radiation test efforts by employing knowledge of radiation effects and their interactions in electronic devices and materials. This associate will design and support test campaigns, analyze the resultant test data to assess compliance to specifications and requirements, and develop test reports.
